The crowds were out in force over the weekend as the FW1 team took to the streets of Adelaide for Australia’s largest domestic motor sport event, the Clipsal 500.
The event was held over four days from 11th to 14th March and had plenty of exciting activities to offer. The FW1 team drew in spectators from far and wide, enlightening them on the benefits of FW1 and demonstrating what we had to offer. So impressed were some people that they offered up their cars, ute’s, and boats for us to demo on.
Our Independent Contractors Alan Cook (DMC), Keane Tan, Mitch Brown (UNM2), and Andy Andyhera (SAV) had plenty of factors to deal with such as the heat and roudy crowds but that didn’t stop them from building relationships with people within the motoring industry and drumming up more business than some of the larger merchandise stands such as Holden!
This year we were also lucky enough to have the support of our Partners Aussie Racing Cars who were present at the event as a support category. They provided plenty of excitement for spectators on the track with a handful of carnage. The stand out crash of the weekend was compliments of Driver Adam Sharp whose car went sideways around turn eight, flipped on to its roof and slid about 100m before stopping. Luckily he appeared uninjured and managed to climb out of the car unassisted.
Aussie Racing also managed to gain plenty attention off track with the introduction of the FW1 and Aussie Racing Car Promo Girls. Flying around the circuit on their new segways, they managed to catch the eye of almost every spectator which resulted in photographs with the girls every few metres. Our girls Grace and Jemma drew in a crowd everywhere they went which was especially great back at the FW1 stand.
Our biggest crowd of the event was definitely main race day (Sunday) when one loyal customer offered up his supercharged racing boat to display at out our stand. David Satterley who is a part of the Blown Lite Superboat Championships was more than happy for us to use his boat which resulted in a battle of the loudest engine between us and the Army Defence Force stand – Surprisingly the boat engine thrashed the Army which drew in a much larger crowd and priceless publicity.
The mood for the rest of the day continued on a high with plenty of kids wanting photos with our girls and having a sit in the boat. Overall the event was a success and the feedback we received from customers and spectators alike was very valuable. We’ve got lots of great new ideas for events in the future which we look forward to executing!
We would like to say a very big THANK YOU to Phil & James Ward from Aussie Racing Cars for the fantastic Segways and ongoing support, Rya & Tom from LION Marketing, our fabulous IC’s Alan, Keane, Mitch & Andy, Promo Girls Grace & Jemma, and Event Organiser Extraordinaire Abi Nabhan whom without, this event would not have been possible!
We look forward to our next event!
